Delhi’s very poor air quality across multiple areas poses challenges

Hyderabad: On November 23, the air quality in New Delhi persisted in the 'very poor' category, with an AQI of 388 during Thursday evening, as per data provided by the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR).
In specific areas of the national capital, Anand Vihar recorded 'very poor' air quality, marked by PM 2.5 at 335 and PM 10 at 246, classified as 'poor'. However, the levels of CO and NO2 stood at 82 and 68, respectively, falling within 'satisfactory' levels, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) as of 6 P.M.
The Air Quality Index (AQI) scale categorizes levels between zero to 500, with 'good' ranging from zero to 50, 'satisfactory' from 51 to 100, 'moderate' from 101 to 200, 'poor' from 201 to 300, 'very poor' from 301 to 400, and 'severe' from 401 to 500.
Meanwhile, at the Bawana station, PM 2.5 and PM 10 were in the 'very poor' category at 373 and 352, respectively, while CO remained at a 'satisfactory' level, recorded at 90.
